A medievalist by training, Melissa Sartore, Ph.D., teaches history, publishes on outlawry in medieval England, and writes for several online outlets, notably Ranker.com. She also provides her own sarcastic take on historical events and popular culture at History According to Snark.


Her interests include writing about history in a way that presents the information with flair to get people interested. Sartore holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her BA and MA in history are from Western Illinois University.
